The resort is home to the precious Hawaiian Green sea turtles which bask on the white sands every afternoon. The aqua marine water here is perfect for the children and they can enjoy year round programme of entertainment at the sugar-white lagoon.

If you’re feeling active whilst on the beach you can discover some island fun canoeing, snorkelling, or surfing, the Fairmont also offers lessons for surfing and snorkelling. If the beach gets too much take a hike through the largest petro glyph field in the pacific, test your creative skills weaving coconut leaf baskets.

The Aloha spirit is still very active here and can be felt through the orchid beach club program, the swimming pools at the Fairmont orchid certainly won’t disappoint! The luxury free-form 100,000 square foot swimming pool which has an island of palm trees in the middle, for shade there are lots of palm trees dotted around the poolside, which is adjacent to the ocean, the children will love the children’s pool area - very unique having a sand bottom to it!!!

The spa at the Fairmont Orchid is certainly a spa with a difference you will feel the warm relaxing energy as you enter either one of the outdoor hales (huts) or one of the treatment rooms.
As you enjoy the treatment you will be taken in by soothing sounds of water and gentle ocean breeze , along with the floral scent which fills the air on Big Island, the spa treatments complement Hawaii’s naturally therapeutic environment and some of the treatments include some of Hawaii’s ancient healing to enable you to experience a treatment with a difference .

The islands local produce such as Kona coffee Ka’ orange , vanilla are used in the products which are used for treatments, so unique is the Awa earth and fire treatment blending Hawaiian herbs together perfect to encourage both mental and physical relaxation what a perfect way to start your holiday or to relax you before your wedding, or at the start of your honeymoon, to help ease away the stress and strains of the last couple of weeks. As the spa without walls extends right to the ocean you will find 6 private cabanas, here the feel of nature along with the all inspiring views gently ease you into a relaxed state, to enable you to enjoy your treatment to the full.

The spa offers both a steam room and dry sauna plus a boutique, where you can purchase signature products to take home with you.
