Manta Rays are the largest of the Ray family, watch them gracefully move through the water by propelling their diamond shaped disks . Some rays weigh up to 700 pounds! If you would like to see the Rays but don’t wish to get wet you can view them from the Sheraton Kealakekua resort and spa.

Snorkel at Kealakekua Bay located on the Kona coast, roughly 12 miles south of Kailua Kona, the bay is a conservation for marine life, making it an ideal place for both snorkelling and scuba divivng. Watch out for the spinner dolphins frolicking in the bay! There are lots of boat tours on offer most provide snorkelling gear; some include lunch and beverages. Even if you don’t wish to scuba or snorkel a great day out is to be had ,it’s an important historic location too marking the death of captain cook in 1779.

WHALE WATCHING

From December through to May the Humpback whales make their annual voyage to Hawaii. The sight of a breeching humpback whale either from just over the bow of your tour boat or from the shore, the memory will stay with you and your family forever! Remember keep your camera in your hand these gentle giants weighing about a ton per foot and over 45 feet on average can take to the air at any given moment!
