Kauai Island

Kauai basks amidst the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, about 20 minutes by air from Honolulu. formed some 6000, years ago the island encompasses approx 550 square miles and is the oldest and northern most of the main Hawaiian islands.

Kauai is an island full of magnificent and unique beauty with goddess power and ancient wisdom which the people of Kauai live their lives by, they invite you to come and discover the legendary aloha spirit that abounds in this friendly garden island In addition to honoring Hawaiian royalty, historic events and culture, with parades, hula shows, luau and concerts, they celebrate American holidays with a festive 4th of July concert and fireworks. Christmas parades are another exciting event on the island.

A haven for hikers and kayakers, Kauai is loved by outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds.

Kauai has been a favorite with wedding and honeymooners ever since Elvis tied the knot there in the great film "Blue Hawaii", with such beautiful un-spoilt white sand beaches it is easy to see why.

You may recognise Kauai even if you've never been, the spectacular scenery has appeared in the hit film Jurassic Park and Raiders of the Lost Arc plus many more famous films. With warm temperatures during the day ranging between 70-80 degrees, and only slightly cooler in the evenings. The water temperature is warm making it extremely inviting! Most of Kauai’s rainfall is a nightly occurrence, and the rain showers that you get are very brief. The trade winds in Kauai are another bonus providing a light breeze, they also help blow away much of the humidity.

Lush, rural Kauai is the Pacific’s own magnificent jade temple. Nature’s fingers have had time to dig deep carving the unbelievable cliffs of the Na Pali coast, the tremendous ragged gash of Waimea Canyon. Not to mention the beautiful waterfalls and lagoons that makes Kauai an unforgettable holiday destination.

NAPALI COAST

As anyone who’s been there knows Kauai's Napali coast is one of the true wonders of the world. It’s definitely got to be one for your to do list whilst in Kauai. You will be spoilt for choice, of ways to the Napali Coast line, as most of the excursions will take you. Whilst there try a little hiking, explore some caves, rivers not to mention the beautifully natural beaches on offer. Definitely lots of opportunity for some great photos for the album! NIGHTLIFE IN KAUAI

KAUAI'S CAVES

The collections of caves in Kauai are a lot of fun for the curious and adventurous! Both the wet and dry caves are the highlight of many peoples visit to Kauai. They are brimming with history of the ancient islanders, which adds to the excitement of exploring these ancient caves! There are lots of ways to explore Kauai’s caves, one way is an island tour. These can specifically include cave exploration or branch out to include other fun activities such as snorkelling or diving. The three main caves are all located along the beautiful north shore and they are Waikapalae wet cave, Waikanaloa wet cave and Manini Holo dry cave. These caves are all very close to each other making touring easy!

The name Manini Holo comes from the head fishermen of the little people called the Mene Hune. Legend has it the Manini Holo dry cave was dug by the chief, in search of Akua, a beast that stole the peoples fish! Both wet caves are legendary meeting spots for the ancient Hawaiian chiefs.

KAMOKILA HAWAIIAN VILLAGE

Established in 1979 Kamokila Hawaiian village, is perched on the north banks of the Wailua river, it remains a relatively off the radar attraction. Run by a Hawaiian family the village includes grass huts, just as you would imagine them to be! Shamans houses are a few amongst other structures available for hire. Here you can experience old style Hawaiian life
